This study seeks to understand customer and community expectations for the network performance indicators published by Austroads. It consists of a review of industry practices, development of key principles, consultation with stakeholders, and a dashboard proof of concept.

The National Performance Management Measures to Assess Pavement Condition (PM2) requires states develop Data Quality Management Programs (DQMPs) to improve their pavement condition metrics. This guidance explains FHWA's approval process for states' DQMPs including the evaluation criteria for different elements of the plan and examples of good practice at each step. In the appendix, there is also a template for the DQMP.

The Nebraska DOT LRP outlines the state's objectives across four key goal areas: safety, mobility, environmental stewardship, and coordinating and cooperation. It defines performance measures for each of these goal areas and describes specific objectives. Though this long range plan was published in 2012, the most recent update occurred in 2018, adding safety performance measures required by the FAST Act.

This long range plan consists of five Technical Memos guiding the performance measures and investment decisions for Missouri's transportation system. The first memo provides an overview of the state's goals, objectives and performance measures. The second and third memos describe the transportation system and the trends it faces, especially growing population and declining revenues. The penultimate memo dives into autonomous and connected vehicle technology and the efforts of Missouri to anticipate this technology. Lastly, the fifth memo outlines the transportation funding and needs.

The guideline aims to provide asset management practitioners with an understanding of the factors that contribute to enabling and sustaining continual improvement. The current challenges within the industry in relation to continual improvement are discussed, with a framework provided for successful implementation.
